Oxygen House have today been announced as this year’s Exeter Chamber of Commerce Business Dinner headline sponsor.
Glenn Woodcock, director of Oxygen House said: “We are pleased to be sponsoring the Exeter Business Dinner this year. It’s great to be able to show our support for all the local and regional businesses as we work towards Exeter’s commitment to being carbon-neutral by 2030, as well as supporting the Chamber and all that it does for Exeter’s business community. Oxygen House’s sponsorship of the dinner will mark the beginning of a partnership between our organisations, where we will work together to encourage businesses in Exeter to be make environmentally conscious business decisions and provide tools and information to enable them to do this.”
Derek Phillips, vice president of Exeter Chamber of Commerce said: “The dinner is recognised as the most prestigious event in the Exeter business calendar. This year, the dinner is the perfect place to bring together two of the region’s leading environmental organisations, Oxygen House and the Met Office, with the chief executive Professor Penny Endersby giving the main address of the evening.”
Prof. Endersby and Mr. Woodcock have together nominated Devon Wildlife Trust as the dinner’s charity of the year. The charity is set to receive a donation in the region of £5,000 from the event.
Ed Parr Ferris, Devon Wildlife Trust conservation manager, said: “Devon Wildlife Trust is delighted to be receiving this support. The timing is excellent as DWT is currently hoping to increase the scope of our Exeter Wild City project, which has seen the introduction and expansion of new wildflower-rich grasslands in the city. We want to create more of these ‘urban meadows’ and link them up into a network of wildlife-friendly habitat to ensure butterflies, bees and other wildlife can thrive in more of Exeter.”
The evening will also see the Chamber celebrate businesses top achievements over the last year, in a new format award giving.
